Sony LinkBuds WF-L900 with an open ring driver surfaces

Among the many premium truly wireless earbuds in the market, Sony’s WF-1000XM4 is easily one of the most uniquely designed offerings. The company is apparently looking to launch an even more unique pair of TWS earbuds called the LinkBuds WF-L900, featuring an open ring driver design.

The LinkBuds WF-L900 will reportedly have the protective cover of the speaker membrane directly integrated into the housing, which enables the unique ring shaped design. The speaker itself is ring shaped, which allows the center of the membrane to be open and lets ambient noise into the ear.

The feeling of listening to these earbuds will be similar to wearing open-back styled headphones, where there is no seal to stop outside noise from coming in. Leaked specs include 12mm drivers that will be tuned for rich sound and strong bass.

It will feature their custom V1 processor for optimal, low-distortion sound and high fidelity processing. It will also support their Digital Sound Enhancement Engine (DSEE) technology for upscaling low-bitrate audio content.

Other features include voice pickup technology and noise suppression technology, touch controls, IPX4 rating, support for voice assistants, Google Fast Pair, Multi-Pairing, HD Voice, and they will reportedly weigh about 4gms. On a single charge, it is expected to last 5.5 hours, and the charging case will add another 12 hours of listening time.

The Sony LinkBuds WF-L900 will be launching soon, and will likely be priced around €200 (Approx. Rs. 17125).
