realme GT 2 Pro, the company’s first premium flagship device, has received the most recent sustainability certification from Sweden-based TCO Development for its leadership in sustainable design innovation and manufacturing process. The news comes after the global launch of the phone last month.
TCO Certification is a sustainability certification for IT products that have undergone a thorough review of safety, user-friendliness performance, environmental sustainability performance, and corporate social responsibility. realme claims that the TCO 9.0 Certification involves over 40 sustainability performance indicators being checked.
Earlier this year, realme presented its “Leap to Greener” sustainability programme at the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona. The firm pledged to cut carbon emissions in half in five years by reducing the whole life-cycle carbon footprint of its GT series smartphones. Continuing the goal, the realme GT 2 Pro is the world’s first smartphone to use an entirely biopolymer rear panel, resulting in a 35.5 percent reduction in carbon emissions during manufacture.
