LG confirms Android 12 update for 3 phones by Q2 2022

LG has confirmed that Android 12 updates will soon be available for three additional devices, a year after announcing that it would be leaving the Android phone industry. The latest Android software will be available for LG Q92 5G, LG V50, and LG V50S smartphones before the end of the third quarter, the company confirmed on its Korean website.

LG has also confirmed that security updates for the LG Q52, LG Velvet, and LG Wing will be delivered. To recall, the company previously revealed that its G series and V series smartphones released in 2019 and beyond, including the G8 series, V50, V60 series, and the VELVET and Wing phones, will receive three OS updates, while 2020 products, such as the LG Stylo and K series, will receive two. In keeping with the promise, the LG Velvet received the Android 12 upgrade in March.

Do note that LG only confirmed the update time frame for Korea as of now for these three models mentioned in the post. Hence, Global models should get the update only after testing in Korea.
