According to newly revealed insights from CMR’s Tablet PC Market Report Review for Q1 2022, which was released earlier today, the tablet market in India increased by 68% year-on-year (YoY), while the market for 4G tablets recorded growth of 74% YoY. Tablets with 8-inch displays accounted for 26% of total units shipped in the Indian market.
On the other hand, 61% of all shipments were tablets with 10″ or larger screens. Earlier, CMR also reported that India’s 5G smartphone shipments were up 300% YoY in Q1 2022.
India Tablet Shipments: Q12022
- Lenovo: The Lenovo Tab M8 HD Tablet series took up 32% of the market, mostly in the value for money segment (INR 7,000–INR 25,000). The firm recorded 48% YoY growth in Q1 2022.
- Apple: Apple’s iPad shipments grew 31% year-over-year, giving it a 22% market share in premium segment (> INR 30,000).
- Samsung: It was ranked third on the market leaderboard, with a 22% market share. Along with that, the firm also recorded a remarkable 81% YoY growth in Q1 2022.
According to CMR, tablet PC shipments are expected to increase by 10–12% in 2022.
