Airtel has launched 5G services in Shimla, Himachal Pradesh. Airtel 5G is currently operational at at Mall Road, Sanjoli, Dhalli, BhattaKufar, Ridge and Sanjoli Helipad Area and few other select locations.
The company said that it will augment its network, making its services available across the city in due course of time.
Airtel 5G is already available in Delhi, Mumbai, Chennai, Bengaluru, Hyderabad, Siliguri, Nagpur, Varanasi, Panipat, Gurugram, Guwahati, Patna and Lucknow.
Airtel already announced that its 5G service will be available in all key metros by the end of this year, all of urban India in 2023 and across the country by March 2024. Since the existing Airtel 4G SIM is 5G enabled, no SIM change needed to enjoy 5G services.
Commenting on the launch, Pushpinder Singh Gujral, CEO, Upper North said:
