After beta updates, Apple has released the stable iOS 16.4 and iPadOS 16.4 updates for iPhone and iPad. For iPhone and iPad, the update brings 21 new emoji, Safari web app notifications, Voice Isolation for calls, and more.
Beta Opt-In Changes
There is one main change in beta opt-in. Those who are enrolled in Apple’s developer program can now turn on the developer beta option directly from the Software Update section by heading to Settings > General > Software Update > Beta Updates and choose the developer beta. This is an easy way instead of installing a profile from the Developer Center to get the developer beta version.
However, this will end the public sharing of developer beta profiles, since you will need to be signed in to an Apple ID linked to a developer account.
iPadOS 16.4
The iPadOS 16.4 brings 21 new emoji, Apple Pencil hover adds tilt and azimuth support, so you can preview your mark at any angle before you make it in Notes and supported apps on iPad Pro 11-inch (4th generation) and iPad Pro 12.9-inch (6th generation). There are other bug fixes and security updates.
The company also introduced the tvOS 16.4 that adds Dim Flashing Lights, an accessibility option to automatically dim the display of video when flashes of light or strobe effects are detected, and includes performance and stability improvements.
The macOS Ventura 13.3 also adds 21 new emoji along with bug fixes. The iOS 16.4, iPadOS 16.4, macOS Ventura 13.3, and tvOS 16.4 updates add support for the PlayStation 5 DualSense Edge Wireless Controller.
