A new PlayStation Handheld is being made by Sony, Insider Gaming reports. The device, known as Q Lite, will be another piece of hardware that depends on the PlayStation 5.
Q Lite, the next PlayStation handheld
Insider Gaming reports that the Q Lite is a new PlayStation Handheld that uses Remote Play with the PS5, a feature that Sony has been promoting lately. The device can stream up to 1080p and 60FPS, but it needs a constant internet connection.
The Q Lite looks similar to a PS5 controller, but with a huge 8-inch LCD touchscreen in the middle. It has adaptive triggers and usual handheld features.
Insider Gaming says that the Q Lite is in its QA phase and will launch after the Detachable Disc Drive PS5 and before the PS5 Pro. Sony unveiled PlayStation VR2 with thinner design and improved comfort last year.
According to industry insider Jeff Grubb, Sony is gearing up to announce its second phase of the PS5, which refers to its upcoming game lineup.
However, this second phase also includes new hardware offerings, such as a detachable disc drive PS5, wireless earphones and headset projects, and a handheld device called Q Lite, all set to release soon.
The PlayStation 5 Pro is also reportedly aiming for a holiday 2024 release.
