HMD Global has introduced the Nokia G42, a new smartphone in their G series, after it surfaced recently. This device is designed to be repairable, just like the G22, as part of Nokia Mobile’s ongoing partnership with iFixit.
The Nokia G42 is equipped with QuickFix repairability, enabling users to easily replace cracked screens, damaged charging ports, and worn-out batteries on their own. With the help of step-by-step repair guides and affordable replacement parts provided by iFixit, repairing the Nokia G42 is made convenient.
Featuring a 6.56″ HD+ 90Hz display and OZO Playback for an immersive audiovisual experience.
It has a 5000mAh battery offers up to three days of usage, and it supports 20W fast charging (QC3.0 & PD3.0) for quick recharging. The device is protected by Gorilla Glass 3 and powered by the Snapdragon 480+ 5G processor, available in configurations of 4/128GB and 6/128GB, with support for expandable storage via a MicroSD card of up to 1TB.
The Nokia G42 features a 50MP main camera, 2MP depth and macro sensors at the back, and an 8MP front-facing selfie camera. It offers various connectivity options such as Bluetooth 5.1, NFC, and dual-band Wi-Fi, and it carries an IP52 rating for water and dust resistance.
The device comes pre-installed with Android 13 and guarantees two years of operating system upgrades. Additionally, the Nokia G42 is made with a back cover consisting of 65% recycled materials and is packaged in FSC-certified mixed packaging.

Pricing and availability
The Nokia G42 5G is priced at 199 GBP (USD 251 / Rs. 20,635 approx.) for the 6GB + 128GB option in the So Purple color. It will be available in the UK and other select regions starting today through Nokia online stores. The company also announced that Pink and Grey versions will be coming soon.
