OnePlus Open surfaces in new renders showing OPPO Find N2-like design

The first foldable phone from OnePlus, the OnePlus Open, has surfaced in the new set of renders, thanks to @OnLeaks. This is different from the previous renders, and show a wider design, similar to the OPPO Find N2.

This also shows rounded sides, but a flat frame, unlike the curved frame in the OPPO Find N2. The position of the top and bottom speaker have been changed from the previous renders.

It also shows a larger rear camera module that shows three large sensors, including a periscope telephoto camera, and the flash is still present on the left corner, outside the camera cut-out, and the size of it is now bigger.

There is also another sensor, which could be Time-of-Flight (ToF) or LiDAR sensor, below the ‘H’ or Hasselblad branding.

The selfie camera on the inside has been moved from the left to right corner. It still shows an alert slider and a leather-like finish for the back.

Earlier rumours revealed a 7.8-inch 120Hz foldable inner AMOLED display and a 6.3-inch 120Hz outer AMOLED screen, Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 SoC, up to 16GB of RAM, up to 512GB of storage, 48MP main, 48MP ultra-wide and a 64MP telephoto camera, and a 4,800mAh battery with 67W SuperVOOC fast charging.

OnePlus CEO Pete Lau has teased foldable cameras and the OPPO president of marketing says that the OPPO has built an excellent foundation, and it is the time to push forward with innovation.

Launch delayed?

Earlier rumours revealed that the phone will launch on August 29th. Earlier this week, reliable OnePlus leaker Max J has reported that the launch of the phone has been delayed.

OnePlus already teased the Q3 2023 launch, which is between July and September, but it is not clear if the launch will happen in September or if it will be moved to Q4.

The leaker said that OnePlus is moving from BOE to Samsung display panel for the foldable phone.
