Sony PlayStation Portal remote player announced

Sony has announced details about the forthcoming PlayStation Portal, a remote-play device anticipated to launch later this year. The company has also unveiled more insights into its product range.

Among these introductions is the Pulse Elite, a wireless over-the-ear headset incorporating the innovative PlayStation Link wireless technology.

PlayStation Portal remote player

Sony has introduced the PlayStation Portal, a remote gaming device that offers a seamless PS5 experience. This gadget includes DualSense wireless controller features like adaptive triggers and haptic feedback.

With an 8-inch LCD screen boasting 1080p resolution at 60fps, the PlayStation Portal connects to your PS5 over Wi-Fi, allowing swift switching between your PS5 and the Portal.

The Portal supports games installed on your PS5 and utilizes the DualSense controller, while excluding PS VR2 games and cloud-streamed games from PlayStation Plus Premium.

Pulse Elite Wireless Headset & Pulse Explore Earbuds

Sony’s Pulse Elite wireless headset delivers lossless audio, featuring a retractable boom mic and AI-powered noise rejection to minimize background sounds. It comes with a charging hanger for added convenience.

The Pulse Explore wireless earbuds provide top-tier portable audio with dual microphones and AI-driven noise rejection. Lossless audio is also part of the package, along with a charging case.

Both the Pulse Elite and Pulse Explore utilize custom planar magnetic drivers for exceptional sound quality, a feature commonly found in premium headphones.

PlayStation Link

Sony’s new wireless audio technology, PlayStation Link, connects the Pulse Elite and Pulse Explore directly to the PlayStation Portal. This technology ensures low-latency, lossless audio, and seamless switching between multiple devices that support PlayStation Link.

When connecting Pulse Elite and Pulse Explore to the PS5, the USB adapter is crucial for utilizing PlayStation Link. This USB adapter is available separately as well, enabling its use on PC and Mac systems for consistent lossless and low-latency audio.

Pulse Elite and Pulse Explore can link to a PlayStation Link device and a Bluetooth-enabled device simultaneously. For instance, while gaming on the PS5 using Pulse Explore connected through PlayStation Link, users can also take calls from their connected mobile phones using the same earbuds.
