HTech launched the HONOR 90, the company’s latest smartphone, as a comeback to the Indian market. This has a quad-curved AMOLED screen, is powered by Snapdragon 7 Gen 1 Advanced Edition, has up to 12GB of RAM, 200MP rear and a 50MP front camera, both with 4K video recording and a large 5000mAh battery. Here we have the first impressions of the phone.
Regarding the box contents, the unit we got is the European version, but the Indian retail version will be different, and doesn’t come with a charger in the box.
The HONOR 90 packs a 6.7-inch Full HD+ AMOLED display with 3D curved corners, 120Hz refresh rate and has minimal bezels. It also has 3840Hz PWM Dimming technology that minimizes flicker, reducing eye strain and ensuring a comfortable viewing experience. Since it has up to 1600 nits peak brightness, the display looks great even in outdoors and for HDR content. There is also HDR support for YouTube, Netflix and Amazon Prime Video.
It has a tiny punch-hole that houses the 50-megapixel camera that supports 4K video recording. The earpiece is present on the top edge, but it doesn’t act as a secondary speaker, which is a bummer.
The phone has an in-display fingerprint scanner, and comes with a minimal bottom bezel.
The HONOR 90 is powered by Snapdragon 7 Gen 1 Accelerated Edition SoC, which is a slightly overclocked version of Snapdragon 7 Gen 1. It has up to 12GB of RAM with addition up to 7GB of virtual RAM.
The phone also has, 4483mm² grand arterial biomimetic VC cooling, Gen 3 high thermal conductivity graphite sheet and Aero grade high thermal conductivity gel. It runs Android 13 with MagicOS 7.1 that has several features and lets users control an HONOR laptop, smartphone and tablet using a single keyboard and mouse with HonorShare.
The company has promised 2 years of software update and 3 years of security patches for the phone.
The phone has a power button and volume rockers on the right side. The dual SIM slots, primary microphone, USB Type-C port and the speaker grill are present on the bottom. The secondary microphone is present on the top.
The phone has triple rear cameras that include a 200-megapixel main camera, 12-megapixel ultra-wide angle camera with macro option and a 2-megapixel depth sensor. The phone has a glass back. The Emerald Green model that we have comes with a matte finish that doesn’t attract fingerprints. The phone also comes in a Diamond Silver colour with a Dual Ring Design, with rounded elements inspired by haute couture and craftsmanship seen in luxury jewellery. There is also the Midnight Black with a glossy finish. The phone comes with a 5000mAh battery, yet weighs 183 grams, and has support for 66W fast charging.
The HONOR 90 starts at Rs. 37,999 for the 8GB + 256GB model. Tthere are bank discounts and exchange offers. It will be available from Amazon.in and offline stores starting from September 18th.
