Google has introduced updates to Search and Lens to assist learners with complex problems in STEM subjects. These updates provide improved support for math, physics, and geometry, making it easier to understand and solve problems.
Simplifying Math and Science with Search
When you search for math and science problems, you can now get more assistance with subjects like trigonometry and calculus. Just enter your equation in the search bar or use Lens to take a picture, and you’ll receive a step-by-step solution. You can also try “math solver” on desktop, and it’s coming soon to mobile.
Google Search’s Help with Word Problems
Google’s advanced language models now offer help with word problems, starting with high-school physics topics. This feature helps you identify known and unknown values and choose the right formulas to solve problems.
Geometry Problem-Solving with Search
Geometry problems can be tricky to describe with words alone. If you need to find the area of a triangle, you can use the Lens to interpret visual problems. It generates step-by-step explanations for geometry challenges.
Visual Learning for STEM with Google Search
Google introduces the ability to visually explore STEM concepts on Search. This visual understanding is crucial for mastering STEM subjects. You can explore 3D models and interactive diagrams for over 1,000 biology, chemistry, physics, astronomy, and related topics.
