Google One surpasses 100 million subscribers

Google’s CEO, Sundar Pichai, has announced that Google One now boasts over 100 million subscribers. This milestone marks a significant step in the company’s efforts to steer users away from its free offerings, such as the discontinuation of unlimited Google Drive storage for photos.

With this achievement, it appears that a substantial portion of users are seeking expanded storage and exclusive features provided by the service. The company’s push towards this milestone was evident in its recent financial reports, where it highlighted nearing the 100 million mark and disclosed significant expenditures, including layoffs.

Notably, YouTube Premium recently reached 100 million subscribers after nine years, while YouTube TV surpassed 8 million subscribers. The CEO has outlined the company’s vision for 2024, emphasizing continued growth.

Google One AI Premium Plan

One of Google’s latest offerings is the AI Premium Plan, which builds upon the momentum of Google One. This plan, priced at $19.99 (Rs. 1,950 in India) per month, introduces features powered by the Gemini AI model.

It is a more advanced version of the existing Google One Premium plan, offering 2TB of storage along with additional features like VPN and dark web monitoring, albeit at double the price.

The AI Premium Plan includes Gemini Advanced features, which are set to integrate into services like Gmail and Docs in the near future. Notably, users cannot subscribe to this plan through Apple’s App Store payments and cannot share it across family groups.

It’s essential to note that pricing, benefits, and availability of Google One plans may vary by region, and users can explore the options on the Google One website, with availability in more countries expected soon.
