Sony Xperia 10 VI surfaces in press renders ahead of launch

Sony is gearing up to unveil new smartphones later this month. The earlier Xperia 1 VI flagship phone details have already surfaced, and now, press images of the mid-priced Xperia 10 VI device have been revealed by tipster Evan Blass on X (formerly Twitter).

The Xperia 10 VI will be available in three colors: white, black, and light blue. Sony has made a noticeable change at the back of the phone by removing one camera. Now, there are only two cameras along with an LED flash between them.

The telephoto camera has been eliminated, leaving only the main and ultra-wide-angle cameras. The main camera is expected to be improved, possibly featuring a 48MP resolution with a 2x Zoom option.

The front of the phone features Sony’s tall screen, which may be slightly wider than before. Thick strips at the bottom and top of the screen remain due to the forward-facing speakers, as indicated by the images.

Volume buttons are located on the right side, along with a power button that integrates a fingerprint reader. Additionally, there’s a headphone jack on the top edge.

The leaked images suggest that Sony continues to offer full water resistance, possibly with IP65 and IP68 ratings for dust and water resistance similar to its predecessor. The Xperia 10 VI may also have various protective covers available for carrying the phone.

Although the exact specifications of the Xperia 10 VI are not revealed in the leak, previous rumors suggest it could be powered by the Snapdragon 6 Gen 1 SoC and supported by a 5000mAh battery, with a lightweight design.

Launch date

The Sony Xperia product launch event is scheduled for May 17, where we anticipate the unveiling of the Xperia 10 VI, alongside the Sony Xperia 1 VI and a new pair of TWS earbuds.
