NTT DOCOMO announced the upcoming establishment of NTT DOCOMO GLOBAL, a new subsidiary planned for July. This move aims to expand DOCOMO’s global presence and influence by introducing advanced mobile technologies worldwide.
NTT DOCOMO GLOBAL will manage the global business operations of the DOCOMO group and develop flexible strategies across various areas. It aims to improve people’s lives worldwide by partnering with local businesses and creating new ways of living.
Services Offered
- It will offer application services and operators-enabling services globally.
- Application services will include Web3-based payment solutions and DOCOMO’s Data Marketing Platform (DMP) driven by AI.
- Operators-enabling services like Open RAN and a global space-based network will revolutionize telecom operations.
Expansion Plans
- Initially, existing global investments within the DOCOMO group will merge under NTT DOCOMO GLOBAL.
- The company plans to invest in leading local companies to bolster its presence in operator-enabling and application-service sectors.
- Geographical expansion will focus on Southeast Asia and North America initially, followed by Europe and the Middle East.
The company will recruit mid-career professionals globally and form capital alliances to acquire expertise in investment, management, and integrated-business development.
Operational Readiness
A preparatory company has been set up to ensure a smooth launch of NTT DOCOMO GLOBAL. Shares are being transferred from NTT Digital Corporation and OREX SAI, Inc., along with three overseas subsidiaries.
Once everything is in place, NTT DOCOMO GLOBAL will start operating in July, the company added.
