Vi hikes prepaid and postpaid tariffs by up to 20%

After Reliance Jio, and Airtel, Vodafone Idea (Vi) has also hiked its prepaid and postpaid mobile tariffs, after 2021. Similar to Airtel, Vi has hiked its tariffs by up to 20%, and the monthly plan now starts at Rs. 199. The yearly Rs. 2899 plan now costs Rs. 3499, up by 20%.

The company said that this is in line with its philosophy of supporting entry-level users while linking higher prices to increased usage, and added the changes in entry-level plans are minimal.

Vi said that it is planning significant investments over the next few quarters to further enhance the 4G experience as well as launch of 5G services.

Vi still offers unlimited night data, and data rollover in its daily data plans.

These new pre-paid plans will come into effect starting from July 4, 2024, a day after the rival Airtel and Jio’s new tariff kick in. The new plans will be available from all existing touch points and channels.
