Google announces Gemini AI screen suggestions, improved Circle to Search features, and more for Galaxy Z Fold6 and Flip6

Google has announced four updates coming to Samsung’s latest devices, including the Galaxy Z Flip6, Z Fold6, and the newest Galaxy Watches.

Suggestions from Gemini Based on Your Screen

On the new Galaxy Z series, Gemini will provide relevant suggestions based on what’s on your screen. You can activate Gemini by swiping the corner of the screen or saying “Hey Google.”

For example, while watching a YouTube video, the suggestion “Ask about this video” will appear. The large screen of the Galaxy Z Fold6 is especially useful for multitasking, allowing you to bring up the Gemini overlay for a split-screen experience.

The Gemini app on Android, available in 29 languages across 200 countries, provides a personal AI assistant for learning, word suggestions, and image generation, integrated with Google apps like Gmail, Docs, Maps, and Drive.

These updates for the Galaxy series will roll out in the coming months.

Circle to Search Galaxy Z Fold6 and Flip6

Circle to Search, introduced by Google earlier this year, allows easy searches on Android devices without switching apps. It includes features like translation capabilities and homework help for physics and math problems.

Starting later this month, Circle to Search will also support learning complex topics like symbolic math and scanning barcodes and QR codes on your screen.

This feature is supported on tablets and foldables, including the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold6 and Flip6, and will be available on more Samsung devices later this year.

Wear OS 5 on the Galaxy Watch Ultra and Watch7

Wear OS 5, which improves performance and battery life, will power Samsung’s new Galaxy Watch line-up, including the Watch Ultra and Watch7.

These smartwatches offer advanced health monitoring features like heart rate tracking and sleep monitoring, providing a personalized health experience and access to a wide range of apps in Google Play.

YouTube TV Multiview

On the Galaxy Z Fold6, YouTube TV subscribers can use Multiview to watch up to four streams at once, choosing from pre-selected combinations like football, news, weather, and sports events.

Announcing the updates, Menaka Shroff, Senior Director of Global Android Product Marketing, said:

We’re constantly collaborating with Samsung to bring the latest Google updates to Galaxy products, including smartphones, wearables, and future technologies like the upcoming XR platform.
