We’re still waiting for more information regarding this but Reuters reports that Sony has bought out Ericsson’s 50% share in the Sony Ericsson joint venture. Sony Ericsson has recently completed 10 years of the JV and started off making feature phones and the iconic Walkman , Cybershot series of devices.
Ericsson will receive 1.05 billion Euros in cash for its 50% stake. Consumers can expect future Sony smartphones to have close integration with the Sony ecosystem including the Playstation brand.
