Airtel has announced that it has completed the deployment of additional spectrum in Bihar and Jharkhand that it acquired recently. It has deployed additional 5.2 MHz on the 1800 band and additional 7 Mhz on the 900 band to boost the 5G/4G network capacities that will improve and enhance data speeds and provide significantly better coverage inside homes and buildings both in urban and rural areas.
As the result, Airtel users in across Patna, Ranchi, Muzaffarpur, Bhagalpur, Gaya, Dhanbad, Bokaro & Jamshedpur etc. will enjoy an elevated quality of service both on voice and data.
The deployment will also allow Airtel to offer wider coverage along the highways and rail routes, as well as increase its footprint in rural areas as the demand for connectivity continues to rise exponentially.
Bharti Airtel acquired 97 MHz spectrum in the 900 MHz, 1800 MHz, and 2100 MHz frequency bands in the auction for a total of Rs. 6,857 crore. In addition to reacquiring the expired spectrum holdings, the company also expanded its Sub-GHz spectrum and efficiently consolidated its fragmented spectrum blocks into continuous spectrum.
Airtel recently started the re-farming of mid-band spectrum for 5G to meet the growing data demands.
Commenting on the network performance enhancements, Sujay Chakrabarti, CEO, Bihar and Jharkhand, Bharti Airtel, said:
Airtel’s commitment to superior network performance is unwavering. With the integration of this new spectrum, customers across the state can now enjoy enhanced call connectivity, faster data speeds and an overall improved performance.
