Vi Game to Fame eSports tournament launched

Vodafone Idea (Vi) has announced the launch of its inaugural esports tournament, Vi Game to Fame, to coincide with the India Mobile Congress 2024. The tournament aims to provide a platform for amateur Indian mobile gamers to showcase their skills and compete at the highest level.

The tournament will feature Call of Duty: Mobile, a popular first-person shooter game, and offer participants a chance to win exciting prizes, including a trip to Paris to visit Team Vitality’s facility.

The first edition of Vi Game to Fame will kick off on October 1st, 2024, and will be open to both Vi and non-Vi subscribers. Participants can register for the tournament through Vi’s website (myvi.in) and Vi App until October 5th.

The tournament will follow a hybrid format, with online qualifiers leading up to a live finale at the India Mobile Congress (IMC) 2024. The top 6 teams from the online qualifiers will advance to the final round, where they will compete in a round-robin format. The top 2 teams from each group will then proceed to the semifinals, with the winning team facing off against the current national CODM champions, owned by Team Vitality.

In addition to the competitive aspect, Vi Game to Fame will also feature a vibrant gaming atmosphere at the Vi booth at IMC. Visitors will have the opportunity to participate in pop-up esports tournaments and meet popular gaming influencers. Team Vitality will provide expert guidance and support to the tournament.

The team registration, match schedule and tournament management is powered by Gamerji, which is a home-grown esports tournament organizer.
