Apple Swift Student Challenge 2025 to begin in February


Apple today announced the opening of its Swift Student Challenge for February 2025. This annual competition offers students a platform to showcase their creativity and develop real-world coding skills using Swift, the same programming language used by professionals to create apps.

Swift Student Challenge 2025 Details

Submission Window: Submissions will be accepted for three weeks, starting in February 2025. Students and educators can learn how to prepare and sign up for notifications on Apple’s developer website.

Winners: Apple will select 350 winners whose projects display excellence in creativity, innovation, social impact, or inclusivity.

  • Among these, 50 Distinguished Winners will receive extra recognition and an invitation to Apple’s headquarters in Cupertino for a three-day event in the summer of 2025.
  • All winners will also gain a one-year membership in the Apple Developer Program and receive a special gift from Apple.
Support and Resources

Apple is enhancing its Swift Coding Club resources to help students prepare for the competition, build a community, and acquire skills for a future in the app development. The updated Swift Coding Club starter kit includes activities that enable students to explore Swift and SwiftUI more deeply and share their experiences with peers.

Additionally, new Develop in Swift Tutorials will provide a strong foundation for those looking to start a career in the app development. These tutorials focus on using Swift, SwiftUI, and Xcode, Apple’s integrated development environment, to build innovative apps across all Apple platforms.

Availability and Sign-Up

Applications for the Swift Student Challenge will open in February 2025 for a three-week period. Interested participants can visit the Apple Developer website to sign up for notifications about the competition and other related updates.
