HONOR showcases Magic7 Series with Autopilot AI Agent and gaming-focused NPU graphics at Snapdragon Summit 2024

HONOR today announced that its upcoming Magic7 Series will be powered by the Snapdragon 8 Elite Mobile Platform from Qualcomm Technologies.

At the Snapdragon Summit 2024, HONOR shared its vision of creating an AI-first ecosystem, revealing innovative AI features set to debut in the Magic7 Series.

On stage, HONOR provided a sneak peek of the Magic7 flagship, showcasing two major AI advancements: the industry’s first on-device AI Agent for an open ecosystem and real-time NPU graphics rendering for mobile gaming.

Autopilot AI for Mobile: First AI Agent for an Open Ecosystem

HONOR announced that the Magic7 Series will be the first to feature an AI Agent for an open ecosystem. This agent can perform tasks such as ordering takeout from a simple text or voice prompt.

With user consent, it learns personal habits—such as preferring coffee with coconut milk—and makes intelligent decisions accordingly. It also simplifies complex tasks, including finding and canceling unwanted subscriptions across different apps with a single command.

The AI Agent can assist with travel planning, booking tickets, managing calendars, organizing notifications, and even transferring files across apps. Integrated into MagicOS 9.0 on the HONOR Magic7 Series, this feature introduces a new level of convenience, marking the beginning of Autopilot AI.

AI-Enhanced Hardware: On-Device Generative AI for Gaming

The Magic7 Series will introduce on-device generative AI for gaming, utilizing NPU (neural processing unit) computing.

For the first time, mobile gaming will benefit from real-time AI graphics rendering, which reduces GPU workload, keeps device temperatures lower, and enhances overall gaming performance with improved image quality.

Seamless AI: MagicRing in the Snapdragon Ecosystem

HONOR also highlighted its collaboration with Qualcomm Technologies to redefine the AI-first ecosystem. The MagicRing technology will allow users to experience seamless AI across multiple devices, apps, and services.

For instance, MagicRing ensures a secure and smooth flow of services between devices. Users can create intricate artwork on Windows through Cocreator by starting with a simple drawing on their HONOR MagicPad 2 and then switch effortlessly between devices to refine it.

MagicRing also enables features like AI Eraser on the HONOR Magic V3 and HONOR MagicBook Art 14, showcasing how AI integrates across devices for an intuitive, multi-device experience.

Launch Date

HONOR has already announced that the Magic7 Series will launch in China on October 30, 2024. Notably, HONOR MagicOS 9.0 will be announced on October 23 (Wednesday).

Speaking at the event, Dr. Ray Guo, CMO of HONOR Device Co., Ltd., said,

Openness and collaboration are at the core of our values. Through our partnership with Qualcomm Technologies, we are shaping the AI-first ecosystem and transforming user experiences for the AI era.

We’re excited to introduce the industry’s first AI Agent for an open ecosystem, and to bring on-device generative AI to gaming, powered by NPU computing for the first time. This marks the beginning of the Autopilot AI era for mobile.

Chris Patrick, SVP and GM of Mobile Handsets at Qualcomm Technologies, Inc., added,

We are delighted to collaborate with HONOR in shaping the future of AI and redefining how people engage with technology. Together, we’re set to push the boundaries of AI and deliver truly transformative experiences.
