Samsung Health app gets medications tracking feature in India

Samsung India has added a new Medications tracking feature to its Samsung Health app, aiming to enhance health management for users across India. In a release, the company emphasized that this feature was developed with the specific needs of Indian users in mind.

Medications Tracking Feature

This addition allows users to monitor both prescription and over-the-counter medications and provides essential information about each medication, supporting those managing chronic conditions like hypertension, diabetes, PCOS, PCOD, and other illnesses that require consistent medication schedules.

Developed through collaboration among Samsung’s R&D, Design, and Consumer Experience teams, the Medications feature includes:

  • Comprehensive Medication Information: Users can input a specific medication name to access general descriptions, possible side effects, and safety guidelines.
  • Safety and Interaction Warnings: The feature includes alerts on potential adverse drug interactions to help users avoid risks.
  • Customized Reminders: Users can set alerts for medication timings and refill reminders, which can be tailored to their preferences, ranging from “gentle” to “strong” reminders.
  • Galaxy Watch Sync: Those with a Galaxy Watch can receive these reminders directly on their wrist, ensuring they stay on track even when their phone is out of reach.

Samsung Health already offers a range of health tools, including sleep tracking, mindfulness programs, and irregular heart rhythm notifications. The addition of the Medications feature reflects Samsung’s ongoing efforts to support comprehensive wellness, providing users with tools to maintain healthy routines and better manage their health.

The Medications tracking feature will be available in India through updates to the Samsung Health app.
