After the press renders and the camera specs, detailed specifications of the Pixel 9a has surfaced. This reveals a 6.3-inch FHD+ 120Hz OLED screen, but it is not clear if this will feature up to 2700 nits peak brightness like the Pixel 9.
It is said to be powered by Google Tensor G4 SoC, and run Android 15, and should receive seven years of software support, including security updates and Android OS upgrades.
This is said to be the same 48MP 1/2″ Sony IMX787 sensor used in the Pixel 9 Pro Fold while retaining the same 13MP ultra-wide camera, which should use a Sony IMX712 sensor, and a 13MP front camera with the same sensor.
The Pixel 9a should use the Tensor G4 SoC, but use an Exynos Modem 5300 from the Pixel 8 series instead of Exynos Modem 5400 in the Pixel 9 series that has support for 5G 3GPP Rel. 17, and has improved efficiency.
The phone should retain IP67 ratings for dust and water resistance, come in 128GB and 256GB storage options with standard 8GB of RAM, and packs this is said to pack a 5000mAh battery, compared to 4492mAh battery in the predecessor, and the biggest battery in a Pixel ‘a series’ phone till date.
