ASUS joins FIRST to boost cybersecurity resilience globally

ASUS today announced its membership in the Forum of Incident Response and Security Teams (FIRST), marking a significant step in its commitment to global cybersecurity.

As the only computer brand from Taiwan to join FIRST, ASUS aims to strengthen its leadership in information security by collaborating with global cybersecurity experts to enhance the security of its products and services.

Key Membership Benefits and Goals

Collaboration with Cybersecurity Experts

ASUS will collaborate closely with global leaders in cybersecurity to stay informed about emerging threats and share threat intelligence. This partnership will help businesses and industries mitigate the risks posed by cyberattacks.

Strengthening the Cybersecurity Ecosystem

As a FIRST member, ASUS will contribute to building a robust cybersecurity ecosystem alongside partners across various industries, ensuring shared value and mutual protection against cyber threats.

Global Recognition and Trust

FIRST is a global non-profit organization with over 700 members from more than 100 countries. ASUS’s membership highlights its global recognition in the cybersecurity field and its commitment to enhancing international network defense capabilities.

This membership also underscores ASUS’s dedication to sustainable development and its goal of promoting positive societal change through enhanced cybersecurity practices.

Collaborating with Global Cybersecurity Experts

TJ Hsu, ASUS Computer Threat Analyst, stated that joining FIRST provides the opportunity to collaborate closely with leading global cybersecurity experts and network defense teams.

Membership allows ASUS to stay informed about both international and domestic security threats in real-time. Additionally, by sharing threat intelligence through FIRST’s extensive network, ASUS can help businesses address cyber challenges more effectively and reduce their impact on industries and society.

The Membership Process

To become a member of FIRST, organizations must undergo a detailed evaluation process, which includes recommendations from two existing members and a review by the FIRST Board of Directors.

ASUS was recommended by DTTW-CSIRT (Deloitte Taiwan CSIRT) and TeamT5 CSIRT (TeamT5 Cyber Security Incident Response Team), and successfully passed the rigorous review, earning its place among the top cybersecurity organizations globally.

Speaking about the membership, ASUS Group Chief Information Security Officer Robert Chin stated:

With the vision of ‘Building Digital Resilience, Enhancing Brand Trust; Striving for Excellence, Advancing Security Together,’ ASUS is committed to actively promoting digital security risk management. As an official member of FIRST, ASUS will strengthen its collaboration with international Computer Security Incident Response Teams (CSIRT) and Product Security Incident Response Teams (PSIRT).

Together, we will explore global digital security trends and integrate threat intelligence to enhance the digital technology capabilities and cybersecurity resilience of domestic enterprises. We will continue to advance the maturity of the global cybersecurity ecosystem, lead the creation of regional industry alliances, and implement supply chain security mechanisms. By improving emergency response efficiency, we aim to ensure rapid and effective responses to a wide range of cyber threats.
