The Ministry of Railways has launched SwaRail, a SuperApp designed to consolidate various railway services into a single platform. The app aims to simplify access to railway-related services while providing a streamlined and user-friendly interface.
A Unified Platform for Railway Services
Developed by the Centre for Railway Information Systems (CRIS), SwaRail integrates all public-facing applications of Indian Railways into one app. Users no longer need multiple apps for different services, which reduces storage space on their devices, according to the Ministry of Railways.
Key Services Offered by SwaRail
SwaRail provides access to a wide range of railway services, including:
- Reserved ticket bookings
- Unreserved ticket and platform ticket bookings
- Parcel and freight inquiries
- Train and PNR status checks
- Food orders on trains
- Rail Madad for complaint management
Key Features of SwaRail
- Single Sign-On: Users can access all railway services with one set of credentials, which also work across apps like IRCTC RailConnect and UTS Mobile App.
- All-in-One Platform: No need for separate apps for reserved/unreserved bookings or train schedules—everything is available in one place.
- Integrated Services: Features like PNR status checks now include related train details for easier access to information.
- Easy Onboarding: Existing RailConnect or UTS Mobile App users can log in without creating a new account. New users can sign up with minimal data entry.
- Multiple Login Options: Users can log in using an m-PIN or biometric authentication for added convenience.
Beta Testing and User Feedback
SwaRail is currently in its beta phase, and the Ministry of Railways encourages users to test the app and share feedback. The CRIS team is closely monitoring user suggestions to refine the app before its official launch. This process aims to ensure the app effectively meets user needs.
Availability and Download
SwaRail is available for download on the Google Play Store and Apple App Store during the beta testing phase. Access is provided on a first-come, first-served basis.
