Telegram has introduced a series of new updates to its app, enhancing user experience with features like AI-powered sticker searches, video link timestamps, video covers, saved video progress, and more.
Here’s what’s new in the latest update:
AI-Powered Sticker Search
Telegram has expanded its AI-powered search to include millions of custom stickers and emojis uploaded by users. Previously limited to 40,000 official stickers, the update now supports complex keyword searches like “thinking monkey” or “space dog” across 29 languages, including English, Spanish, Arabic, and Hindi.
Copy Video Link at Current Time
Users can now share video links with timestamps, directing viewers to specific moments in a video. This feature, available since 2019 for captions and replies, now extends to shared links.
Simply tap the share arrow in the video player to include the current timestamp, ensuring the video starts at the exact moment you want to highlight.
Video Covers in Channels
Telegram now allows users to set custom cover photos for videos posted in channels. Similar to story videos, you can use the video editor to add text, stickers, and emojis before selecting a frame as the cover. To set a cover, tap the three-dot icon in the video editor and choose ‘Edit Cover.’
Saved Progress for Videos
Videos on Telegram now automatically save your progress, allowing you to pause and resume watching from where you left off. Additionally, all videos support picture-in-picture playback, enabling you to multitask while watching.
React with Stars as a Channel
Users can now send Star reactions to channel posts as one of their channels, providing greater privacy and allowing creators to promote their channels on the leaderboard. Star reactions have always supported anonymous mode, ensuring user names remain hidden.
Browse Similar Bots
Bot profiles now display a list of similar bots, helping users discover popular services, utilities, and games more easily.
Availability
The updates in Telegram v11.7.3 are now available for all iOS users and Android users who downloaded Telegram directly from telegram.org/android or via the Google Play Store.
