Sony is gearing up to release the Xperia 1 VII, the successor to the Xperia 1 VI. Leaked 5K CAD renders and a 360-degree video, shared by XpertPick and tipster OnLeaks, offer a glimpse of the upcoming flagship.
The Xperia 1 VII measures 161.9 x 74.5 x 8.5mm, slightly wider and thicker than the Xperia 1 VI (162 x 74 x 8.2mm), with the rear camera bump increasing the thickness to 11mm, according to reports. The 6.5-inch display size remains unchanged, featuring thick bezels at the top and bottom. The upper bezel houses a selfie camera, the report noted.
Design-wise, the renders reveal a black finish. The right edge includes a power button with an integrated fingerprint sensor, a volume rocker, and a dedicated camera shutter button, consistent with its predecessor. The left edge stays clean, with no buttons.
The bottom edge has a hybrid SIM slot supporting microSD, a microphone, and a USB-C port. On the top edge, a 3.5mm audio jack—a rarity among recent flagships—sits alongside a microphone. Dual front-firing speakers enhance the audio experience, added the report.
The rear retains a vertical camera module with three lenses, including a periscope zoom lens. Additional cutouts suggest possible laser autofocus, microphones, or an LED flash.
