Semiconductor manufacturer MediaTek has launched Mobile Theater, a new video and audio compression software for feature phones. It runs both MPEG-4 and H.264, among other popular digital video/audio coding formats. The compression reduces the video size allowing users to store 50 film clips on a 2GB T-card without compromising on quality.
The software also optimizes subtitle crispness and AAC sound quality while also keeping file distortion to a minimum. The software also supports 2D/3D content switching.
Since it uses MPEG-4 and H.264 digital coding formats, the compressed audio and video will run on any brand of feature phone including Micromax, SPICE, Karbonn, Lava, MAXX, Videocon, Onida, Intex and Lemon phones.
