HTC India has started teasing the upcoming launch of their flagship Butterfly Android smartphone launch on Facebook. The company posted images of the phone with a caption Guess what’s flying into town soon?. The Android smartphone was originally launched on Japan’s KDDI network back in October, released as Droid DNA in the U.S. and it was announced for global markets in December.
It packs a 5.0-inch Full HD (1920×1080 pixels) Super LCD 3 display with 440ppi pixel density and Corning Gorilla Glass 2 protection, powered by 1.5GHz quad core Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 Pro processor and runs on Android 4.1 (Jelly Bean) with HTC Sense UI on top.
It has a 8MP auto focus camera with a 28mm lens and F2.0 aperture, BSI sensor and LED flash, 1080p HD video recording and a 2.1 MP 1080p front-facing camera. Other features include, 2GB RAM, 16GB internal memory, 32GB expandable memory with microSD, 3G, WiFi 802.11 a/b/g/n, DLNA, Bluetooth 4.0 with aptX, HDMI via MHL, GPS + GLONASS and a 2020 mAh battery.
HTC India did not reveal any other details such as the launch date or the price yet, but we can expect an announcement in coming weeks.
