Samsung launched the Rex series of feature phones in India few hours back. We got some hands-on time with the REX 60, the most affordable phone in the series. The phone is Java-based similar to the other phones in the range. It has Touchwiz interface with 8 customizable home screens. The Rex 60 is priced at Rs. 4,280.
It has a 2.8-inch resistive touch screen display with a resolution of 320 x 240 pixels.
There is a large home button blow the display, with call attend and call end / power buttons on either sides. The home button and the sides of the phones have metal finish. The phone has Smart Dual SIM that would let you receive calls from SIM 1 even when the SIM 2 is in use.
It comes with Opera Mini browser, ChatON cross-platform messaging app, Facebook and Twitter apps and range of chat clients such as Gtalk, Yahoo, MSN and FB Chat. It also comes with 10 Full version Gameloft Games.
It has support for 9 Regional languages, which might be much useful for people in the rural region. The REX 60 packs a 1.3 megapixel camera at the back. It has 2G (EDGE) and Bluetooth 3.0 connectivity. It comes with expandable memory card slot up to 16GB. There is a 1000 mAh battery that would offer up to 15 hours of talk time.
