We just saw Nokia tease the Lumia 625 yesterday. While we were pretty sure it was the Lumia 625 that is going to be announced today, some others thought it might be a tablet, but as a tradition these days, the full specifications and colourful press images of the Lumia 625 have leaked out on to the internet, just ahead of launch, confirming our suspicions about the device. The usual Data Sheet that is given to journalists with the press kit has leaked out from Finland’s own Puhelinvertailu and it tells us a lot more than what we already know. Read past the break to find the full specifications of the Lumia 625.
As you can see from the above image, the Lumia 625 was what Nokia teased yesterday, the bright orange colour being the indicator. The specifications largely remain the same as the Lumia 620 except for some key differences, lets go through them. The design has slightly changed, with obvious increase in screen real estate and the inclusion of 2.25D curved Corning Gorilla glass 2. The shell however is dual shot, just like the Lumia 620, with an opaque inner layer and a transparent outer layer. The device also seems to be thin at 9.15mm and weighing in at a solid 159g. The device also comes in similar colours as the Lumia 620, as the leaked press images from @EVleaks show –
The display, like we expected, is a 4.7 inch WVGA IPS LCD screen, with wide viewing angles, super sensitive touch and software based enhancements from Nokia. Coming at just 201 ppi, we think it might not be that pixel dense as one would like, but seeing how 5 inch WVGA devices have sold, Nokia understands that it mostly doesn’t matter.
The processor used in this phone is an upgrade from all the older Lumia devices like the 520, 620 and 720 which sported the Snapdragon S4 Plus MSM8227. The Lumia 625 though, supposedly has the MSM8930, the S4 Plus variant with a faster 1.2 GHz processor and the same Adreno 305. But the RAM memory still remains 512 MB. Talking of memory, the internal memory too hasn’t been touched, at 8GB while the memory card slot can add 64 more GB if needed.
The camera on this stays the same as the Lumia 620 and the 520 but the Lumia 625 gains full HD video recording that is possibly thanks to the chipset upgrade it has gotten. But the downgrade in terms of video is the presence of only one microphone, so it is possible that it records only in mono even after the GDR2 Amber update. Well, at least it has the Dolby Surround and FM Radio(which curiously went missing on the Lumia 620, and will not have it even after the update) The battery has also gotten the much needed upgrade from the 620, and it now is of 2000 mAH capacity, just like the 720.
This will be running Windows Phone GDR2 with Amber update, as noted with the presence of FM Radio and the Nokia Colour Profile. The Lumia 625 will be launching in just a couple of hours, and we’ll let you know if we find anything more about this device. Till then, stay tuned to the blog and keep refreshing for new updates!
