Samsung confirmed earlier this year that they would launch a Tizen-based device in 2013. We had already seen an image of the Samsung GT-I8800 codenamed Redwood back in May, now guys at Tizen Experts has got their hands on the Tizen RedWood device (Z9005) that run on the new Tizen 2.2 OS. Since the device is inside a casing, we couldn’t get the glimpse of the complete device. This brings a lot of new features such as scrollable status bar, more toggles, screen mirroring, tethering and more.
The website says that the device has been sent to the developers in India. The device has a large camera sensor and a LED flash. The UI looks similar to Samsung TouchWiz and has SmartStay, NFC, S Beam, WiFi Direct and lot more connectivity options. Even though this device still runs on Tizen Version 2.2 Firmware Z9005XXMI3 that is under development, Tizen 3.0 is expected soon.

The first Tizen device was expected in Q3 2013, but it is Q4 already, so it is not clear when we can expect the first Tizen device.
