LG G Bot, Meta Drive and more trademark filing surface

LG Electronics

LG has registered for new trademarks ahead of CES, as reported by Phandroid. LG is all set to showcase their new TVs and home appliances at the CES 2014 next week. New trademark filings including G Bot and Meta Drive has surfaced, which indicates that LG might unveil some mobile devices or software under these new names.

  • LG G Bot: LG already announced that it would show off Smart Hom-Bot Vacuum Cleaner in CES 2014. It had been naming its Vacuum Cleaner for the past few years, so what could G Bot be? May be a voice assistant like Siri or S Voice?
  • Meta Drive: Likely to be some kind of cloud service like Google Drive for LG device
  • Fireweb: We are familiar with the name. LG unveiled LG Fireweb smartphone powered by Firefox OS back in October in Brazil. Looks like it is applying for its trademark only now.
  • Air Gap and Zero Gap: We already know that LG has used Zero Gap Technology on LG G Optimus G and Nexus 4 displays, but it is not clear what Air Gap might be.

The website notes that LG has renewed old trademarks including, Exalt, Reflex, Elite, and Motion, which might be used in future. LG might show off the Fireweb smartphone at the event next week.

It is not expected to unveil any new smartphones or tablets since it is likely to concentrate on Home Appliances at this event. Hope we can expect new mobile devices at the MWC 2014 next month.
