Micromax unveiled the Canvas LapTab, the company’s first dual-boot Android and Windows 8.1 tablet at the CES 2014 last week. Now PTI reports that the tablet would be priced under $500 or Rs. 30,000 when it launches in India sometime in Q1 2014. The Canvas LapTab has a 10.1-inch (1280 x 800 pixels) IPS touch screen display, powered by a 1.46 GHz Intel Celeron N2805 processor along with 2GB of RAM. It lets you switch to Android 4.2 or Windows 8.1 easily.
It also has a detachable keyboard dock, HDMI port,one USB 3.0, and two USB 2.0 ports. It comes with WiFi and Bluetooth 4.0 support. Since this runs on Windows, you get support for a range of accessories including option to connect an external hard disk via USB ports.
Micromax Co-founder Rahul Sharma told PTI that,
The Laptab will be priced under $500 for the Indian market and we expect to sell about 100,000 units in the domestic market in the first half of 2014
It also has a 2-megapixel front-facing camera, comes with 32 GB internal storage, expandable memory up to 64 GB with micro SD and packs a 7400 mAh battery. We got to check out the Micromax Canvas LapTab at the CES, check out the hands-on video below.
