Intex launched the Aqua Octa, India’s first MediaTek Octa-Core powered smartphone last month. We already brought you the unboxing of the Aqua Octa. Here we have the benchmarks of the smartphone. It is powered by a 1.66 GHz Octa-Core MediaTek MT6592 processor which has 8 ARM Cortex-A7 CPUs and is based on 28nm HPM. It has a Mali 450-MP4 GPU, comes with a 6-inch HD display and runs on Android 4.2 (Jelly Bean).
This is the first Octa-Core chip with Heterogeneous Multi-Processing (HMP), where all the core can be turned ON at the same time. Instead of comparing with other MediaTek chips, we managed to compare it with high-end chips such as Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 and Samsung’s Exynos 5 Octa. Check out the benchmark results below.

Quadrant Benchmark
It scored 12755 points in the Quadrant Benchmark, above the HTC One.
AnTuTu Benchmark 4
It tops the AnTuTu Benchmark with 27251 points, better than the Nexus 5.
Vellamo 2.0 HTML5
In the Vellamo 2 HTML5 browser benchmark, it scored 2122 points.
Vellamo 2.0 Metal
It managed to score 683 points in the Vellamo 2 Metal CPU subsystem performance test.
Linpack Single Thread
It managed to clock around 141.8 MFLOPS in the Linpack single thread benchmark.
Linpack Multi-Thread
It managed to clock around 255.9 MFLOPS in the Linpack multi-thread benchmark.
SunSpider JavaScript benchmark
In the SunSpider 1.0 JavaScript Benchmark, it managed to clock 1121.7 ms, better than the Xolo Play.
NenaMark 2
It clocked 60.4 fps in the NenaMark 2 GPU benchmark.
GFXBench 2.7 T-Rex (On screen)
It clocked 14 fps in the GFXBench 2.7 T-Rex benchmark.
Basemark X HD (Onscreen)
It clocked around 7.6 fps in the Basemark X Onscreen benchmark.
Basemark X HD (Offscreen)
It clocked around 5.2 fps in the Basemark X HD Offscreen benchmark.
Basemark OS II
It scored 529 points in the Basemark OS II benchmark. The synthetic benchmark scores are good, but the real life performance matters too.
