Samsung has launched the Gear and Gear Neo smartwatches in India along with the Galaxy S5. Samsung unveiled the Gear 2, Gear 2 Neo and the Gear Fit at the MWC 2014 last month. The Gear 2 is the successor of the first Galaxy Gear, that was introduced at the IFA 2013. Unlike the first Android-based Galaxy Gear, this one runs on Tizen OS, optimized for wearable devices. It has the same 1.63 inch (320 x 320 pixels) Super AMOLED display that we had seen on the Gear. It has a 2-megapixel auto focus camera capable of recording 720p HD videos.
The Gear Neo is almost similar to the Gear, but it lacks a camera on top. Both the Gear and the Gear have home button, IP67 certification for dust and water resistant and connects to the devices using Bluetooth 4.0 LE. It also have IrLED to use to use Samsung WatchON Remote. Other features include, Calculator, ChatON, Flashlight, Quick Settings, Voice Memo, Smart Relay, S Voice, Stopwatch, Timer and more.

Both these have Heart Rate sensor on the bottom, to monitor your heart rate easily, in a few seconds, Pedometer and apps to monitor your exercise (Running, Walking, Cycling, Hiking and more). These have 512MB of RAM and 4GB of internal storage, similar to the Gear. Samsung promises about 2 to 3 days of battery life with average use.
The Samsung Gear and Gear Neo are priced at Rs. 21,900 and Rs. 15,900 respectively. Both these would go on sale from April 11th along with the Gear.
