Xiaomi will not release Mi Max and Mi Note series phones this year

Xiaomi announced Redmi as a separate brand and also appointed Lu Weibing the president for the sub-brand back in January. The company recently launched the Redmi K20 and Redmi K20 Pro under the Redmi sub-brand. Now, the Xiaomi CEO, Lei Jun has announced that the company won’t be releasing Mi Max and Mi Note series phones this year. He also mentions that Mi series represent high-end devices featuring the latest innovations from the company and with the Redmi series, the company aims to offer high-quality products at affordable prices. Xiaomi India opens registration for Redmi K20 Pro Explorer program

Update: June 20,2019 — Xiaomi India has announced Mi Explorer program for Redmi K20 Pro, as expected. You can register on mi.com  with your personal details from today, 20th June till 22nd June. Only 48 applicants will be shortlisted as Mi Explorers on 25th June.

Xiaomi suspends MIUI Global Beta ROM, will release stable updates more frequently

With more than 300 million global users Xiaomi’s MIUI is amongst the most popular Android skins. MIUI Global ROM has different versions such as Stable and Beta to cater to different users. Xiaomi smartphones come preloaded with MIUI Global Stable ROM pre-installed, and these builds are claimed to be most stable and are recommended for day-to-day usage to normal users by the company. MIUI Global Beta ROM is designed keeping smartphone enthusiasts in mind who want to be amongst the first ones to experience new features, but Beta ROM is not as good as Stable ROM in terms of stability. Realme releases kernel source for Realme 3 Pro

Realme has gained popularity since its inception because of VFM offerings in the mid-range smartphone segment. The company launched its latest offering Realme 3 Pro in the country on 22nd April. The smartphone packs a 6.3-inch Full HD+ Dewdrop notch display with 90.8% screen-to-body ratio and is powered by Snapdragon 710 10nm SoC with up to 6GB RAM. Now, the company has released kernel sources for the Realme 3 Pro, so there are good chances that we see custom ROMs for the smartphone in coming months. Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 Pro gets Android 9.0 Pie-based MIUI 10.3 Global Stable update with Dark Mode [Download Link]

Xiaomi launched its first dual-camera phone Redmi Note 5 Pro in India last year running MIUI 9.2 on top of Android 7.1 (Nougat) and later updated it to MIUI 9.5 based on Android 8.1 (Oreo) back in June 2018. MIUI 9.5 also brought some new features such as full-screen gesture support, Dual 4G VoLTE and more to Redmi Note 5 Pro. Xiaomi launched the Redmi 6 Pro in India back in September 2018 running MIUI 9 on top of Android 8.1 (Oreo) and later in December, it was updated to MIUI 10 which was also based on Android 8.1. Back in February, the company started recruiting Beta testers for testing Android Pie based MIUI 10 Global Beta ROM for various devices including Redmi 6 Pro. Mi File Explorer gets Dark Mode with latest update

Xiaomi introduced system-wide dark mode on MIUI Global ROM couple of months ago but some of Xiaomi’s in-house apps such as Mi Drop, Mi Music, and Downloads still lack dark mode. Xiaomi has recently added dark mode to its popular Mi File Manager app, the app is not exclusive to MIUI users and can be downloaded from Play Store. Xiaomi introduced App Vault back in 2017 with MIUI 9 with an aim to bring convenience at users tip.
