The Motorola Atrix 2 , codenamed Edison, was recently spotted by The Verge. The phone was given a thorough hands on revealing a large 4.3″ qHD display. The display ditches the pentile matrix panel resulting in much clearer text.

Engadget reports that the Nokia N9 will no longer be available for sale in Hong Kong. While no press release has been issued so far , Engadget received an email from Nokia Hong Kong stating that the phone will not be available in the region.
Nokia has already announced its intentions to move away from its ‘Ovi’ brand and instead focus on the name Nokia. After the shift from Ovi Maps to Nokia Maps , the next big change comes in the form of the Ovi Store.
Hacker pOsixninja from the Chronic Dev Team has announced the discovery of 5 new bootrom userland exploits which will be used to develop a jailbreak for Apple A5 based devices. The A5 chip is being currently used in the iPad and is expected to be the chip powering the next generation iPhone.

SK Telecom , a Korea based telecom operator , has just introduced its next generation USIM cards which add NFC capabilities to phones lacking it. NFC is used to enable cell phone based payments , mobile advertisements and even peer to peer communications.

One of the most popular cross platform messaging services ie WhatsApp is finally making its way over to Windows Phone 7.5 which is also known as Mango. WhatsApp sent across a cryptic message via its official Twitter channel which indicated that it was working on an app for Mango.
CarryPad reports from the Intel Developer Forum that Android will be making an entry on Intel hardware beginning 2012. Intel announced that it plans to bring Android 2.3 Gingerbread to its Atom E6xx series of chipsets.
Nokia just announced via its blog a brand new Qt based application which will make use of MirrorLink technology. The car mode application will be available to all Symbian Belle smartphones alongside the Nokia N9. The application will make it easier for users to access phone functions while driving.

BGR has managed to get their hands on a new Blackberry device called the 9790. The device which looks like a lower end version of the Bold 3 ie the 9900 still manages to include a decent feature set while presumably being sold at a mid range price point.
IntoMobile reports that HTC will be holding a press event early next week to announce new Android devices. The invitation which reads ‘Come celebrate in style with HTC’ indicates that the company might be finally launching its much awaited ‘Bliss’ smartphone.

The ever elusive Nokia N9 just went up for pre order in Australia. The MeeGo Harmattan based handset is available on Harvey Norman in both 16 and 64GB configurations.
Samsung’s twitter account has let out the news that Bada 2.0 will be rolled out to all Samsung Wave devices including the low end Wave 525 , 523 models. The new version of Bada will be available starting Quarter 4 in Europe.

If the Windows Phone Dev Podcast is to be believed then we can expect the WP7 Mango roll out to begin sometime next week. The awaited update brings major improvements with the biggest being support for multitasking.
Over at MaxPDA forum , a person has put up images of what appears to be a never before seen Blackberry device. While the poster claims it to be a 9980 , nearly everything on the device aligns with the Bold 9900. The design is particularly peculiar as it is unlike anything that RIM has done so far with their devices.
