John Nack leaves Adobe to join Google’s Photography team

Google is working on its photography suite seriously and it was pretty evident after the Mountain View company acquired Snapseed photo editing app. In the latest move to strength its photography team, Google has pocketed Adobe’s John Nack.

John Nack has been associated with Adobe and one of its primary offering – Adobe Photoshop. John Nack was the Senior Product Manager for Adobe Photoshop. He had been associated with Adobe for 14 years and was the man to lead the company’s first public beta – CS3. Apart from that, he was also responsible for features inside Photoshop like Smart Objects.

In a blog post at Adobe’s website, John Nack bid his former company a adieu and hopes for a great experience at Google. He also said that the two companies have been in good terms and are working to make the best for photographers to tell their tales.

Samsung Ativ S was Samsung’s first Windows Phone 8 device and it barely saw the launch because of various problems. Many thought Samsung was out of the Windows Phone business as there were no devices, but things are about to change. Google opens up Chromecast for developers, makes streaming main stream

Google announced their 35$ dongle – Chromecast at the Google I/O 2013 event last year. At launch, Chromecast was restricted to US and eventually started rolling out to other countries. It is officially available in India and is priced around Rs. 3,300 from Amazon. What this Chromecast does is that it lets you stream content from your iOS or Android device or PC to your TV via WiFi.

Samsung schedules Unpacked event for Feb 24th to unveil Samsung Galaxy S5

Samsung is expected to announce the next iteration of Galaxy S series sometime soon and there were early rumors that Samsung will be holding an event on Feb 23rd, but it turns out that they are holding the unpacked event on Feb 24th, just on the starting day of MWC 2014. The event invite tells us that this is Samsung’s Unpacked event 5 and it also mentions it as episode 1. The event will take place in Barcelona.

Nokia Lumia 1320 Camera Samples

Nokia Lumia 1320 was announced as one of the two phablets that Nokia unveiled at their Abu Dhabi event in 2013. Nokia Lumia 1320 comes with mid-range specifications and has a 6inch display sporting a HD resolution of 1280×720 pixels. Apart from the mid-range specifications, it comes with a 5MP camera and LED flash. There is a front facing VGA camera for video calls. The Nokia Lumia 1320 can record 1080p videos at 30fps.

Nokia Lumia 1320 Photo Gallery

At the Abu Dhabi event in 2013, Nokia announced two phablets – Nokia Lumia 1520 and Nokia Lumia 1320. Among the two phablets, Nokia Lumia 1520 was the high end phablet with top of the shelf specifications and features. Nokia Lumia 1320, on the other hand, was supposed to be the mid-range phablet. Nokia launched the Lumia 1520 sometime in Dec 2013, but the Lumia 1320 is making its way to the market only now.

Samsung Galaxy S4 and S4 Mini go Black with faux leather back

Samsung Galaxy S4 was announced last year and it is all set to be replaced by the Samsung Galaxy S5 which is rumored to arrive on February 23rd. Samsung unveiled various editions of the Samsung Galaxy S4 – Gold Edition, Crystal Edition and now, we have the black edition. What the black edition does is that it comes with a faux leather back that featured in Samsung Galaxy Note 3.

Motorola Moto G coming soon to Flipkart

Motorola may have been sold to a Chinese manufacturer – Lenovo, but Moto G is on its way to India. Lenovo tablets A3500 and A3300 spotted at Bluetooth approval

Lenovo has bought Motorola, but that doesn’t mean the company has even paused for anything. Two Lenovo tablets – Lenovo A3500 and Lenovo A3300 have been spotted at the Bluetooth approval yesterday. There is no official word on their launch yet, but they will be announced very soon.

Foxconn made BlackBerry OS 10.2 Smartphone gets certification

Foxconn would be manufacturing BlackBerry OS 10.2 smartphones and the company’s chairman Terry Gou announced that these smartphones will be showcased at the MWC 2014 which is three weeks away from now. SwiftKey comes to iOS, but plays within Apple’s rules

Samsung goes after Apple’s business again. This time, Samsung follows Apple into the educational domain where the presence of Apple’s iPad seems to have increased. The Internet opens up even more – .guru, .bike and others now available

The booming of Internet in the late 90s is often referred to as the “Dot com boom” where the “dot” refers just a dot and the “com” represents a domain address. The “dot com” boom referred to the rise of Internet companies and mainly because .com was one of the most used domains in the Internet.
