Late last year, Uber was banned from India following rape allegations and although the firm has now re-launhced in New Delhi, it comes with a promise of better safety practices. Three UK already confirmed to be stocking the Galaxy A3 and now the network has revealed they will also be selling its bigger sibling, the Galaxy A5, on pay monthly contracts and pay as you go in the UK. During last night’s 100 days of Honor event in London, the company introduced the Huawei Honor Holly smartphone to the European market. The LG G Flex 2 was announced almost a month ago at CES 2015 and shortly after we heard that it was coming to the UK as a Vodafone exclusive for six weeks. Since then, there’s been very little information about a release date but now it has been revealed the handset will launch in the UK on March 19th with pre-orders opening on February 12th. Samsung has only just begun issuing invites to its March 1 MWC 2015 event in Barcelona where the Galaxy S6 and S Edge are likely to be announced but already we’re hearing alleged pricing for the handset. According to AndroidPit, the Galaxy S6 and S Edge will both be available in three storage sizes and the Galaxy S6 will begin at €749 whilst the Galaxy S Edge will be approximately €100 more. O2 UK have finally begun rolling out the Lumia Denim update for selected Lumia smartphones but for those receiving the update on the Nokia Lumia 930, it comes with a particular feature missing. Vodafone India has announced it has applied to the country’s central bank for a permit to operate a payments bank as the world’s largest network looks to bring basic banking service to its millions of Indian customers. HTC’s next flagship is expected to be announced at an event at MWC 2015 in Barcelona next month and the latest rumour suggest that the camera could be a standout feature. As expected for quite some time, EE have today confirmed that the Orange and T-Mobile brands are now officially closing in the UK. In an interview with Mobile News, EE Chief Commercial Officer Marc Allera confirmed that EE will no longer sell Orange and T-Mobile contracts directly and indirect channels will stop sales in a months’ time on March 2nd. Samsung has finally started sending out press invites to an Unpacked event being held in a months’ time on Sunday 1st March 2015 in Barcelona.
The event, which takes place on the Sunday before MWC 2015 officially begins, is likely to see the launch of the Galaxy S6 and the invite points to a Curved Design suggesting we’ll also see a curved edge smartphone announced.
