Lava Iris 401, the latest entry-level smartphone in the Iris series has appeared on the official website. It has a 4-inch (800 x 480 pixels) capacitive touch screen display, powered by a 1.3 GHz dual-core processor and runs on Android 4.2 (Jelly Bean). It has a 3-megapixel rear camera with LED flash and a VGA front-facing camera.. It also has dual SIM support with dual standby similar to other Iris smartphones, but lacks 3G support. Meizu, Canonical sign strategic agreement, Ubuntu-powered Meizu MX smartphone coming in Q1 2015?
Chinese phone maker Meizu has signed a strategic agreement with Canonical, the company confirmed on their Facebook page. The reason for the deal signed by Canonical CEO Jane Silber on November 25 at Meizu’s HQ in Zhuhai, China is not know yet. According to Chinese website MyDrivers, Meizu said that Ubuntu-powered Meizu MX series smartphone would be released in Q1 2015 in China and Europe. Apple has revealed that iOS 8 now runs on a majority of devices registered with the App Store. The iOS 8 operating system now runs on 60% of iPhone and iPads as of November 24.
Sony SmartWatch 3 Review
One of the biggest trends in technology at the moment is wearable devices such as smartwatches and whilst many manufacturers have begun launching their first devices this year, Sony’s already on the third generation of the Sony Smartwatch range. Whilst this year’s smartwatch shares many similarities with its predecessors (such as durability and overall design), it features a few major differences and the biggest of these is its powered by Google’s new Android Wear operating system.
Whilst previous devices were powered by Sony’s proprietary user interface, the adoption of Android Wear has meant Sony can stop focusing on the software and instead look to innovate in hardware and design.
