Aircel today announced that it will be adding 13000 2G, 3G and 4G sites across India by December 2015. Out of the 13000 sites, 5300 sites are 2G and the remaining 7700 are 3G and 4G sites combined, said the company. Aircel has launched its 4G services in Tamil Nadu and Jammu & Kashmir. It becomes the first company to provide 2G, 3G and 4G services in these two circles. Last month Aircel launched its 4G LTE services in four circles – Andhra Pradesh, Assam, Bihar and Odisha. Other than these circles, Aircel holds 20MHz of spectrum in the 4G LTE 2300 MHz band in West Bengal and North East. Facebook has crossed 100 million monthly active users in India which is the second largest country on the social network behind the US. Javier Olivan, VP, Growth & Analytics, Facebook stated in an interview with the Economic Times, that Facebook crossed the landmark on March 31. He also touted that the company is now eyeing for reaching over 1 billion active users in India.

Aircel, one of the leading mobile operators in India, has followed Reliance Mobile’s footsteps by launching a new and cheap tariff for 3G data plans. The 3G data pack rates have almost been halved in this case, and now are even more affordable. It used to cost Rs. 250 for 1GB of data in the Chennai circle, but now it is just Rs. 128 and the data pack rates slightly vary for other regions. There is also a new Pocket Internet Rs. 27 data pack that offers unlimited 2G/3G data for 7 days, with a FUP of 750 MB.
