Aircel has launched BookMate, the company’s first e-book store. This lets users browse, store, download and read books, magazines and comics, on their smartphones, tablets and PCs. This has collection of fiction and non-fiction bestsellers, magazines, comics, biographies, classics, children’s stories, reference books and more. Aircel BookMate will be available on WAP, Web and Android. iOS app would be available soon. Aircel launches new 10 paise per minute local calling packs in Delhi

Aircel has launched two new rate cutters for pre-paid customers in Delhi that offers local calling rates 90% less at 10p/min. These packs are price at Rs. 27 and Rs. 11 respectively. The Rs. 27 pack offers all local calls at 10p/min for first 100 minutes and post that 40 paise per minute. It comes with a validity for 21 days. This would let Aircel customers download more than 20,000+ videos across more than 12 languages including English, Hindu, Marathi, Gujarati, Assamese, Bhojpuri, Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam and more at Re. 1 per video. There are 8 genres including bollywood, Hollywood, realty, lifestyle, music, comedy and more. Airtel launched a similar Re. 1 mobile video download service last month. Aircel to start 4G LTE trial in Chennai by the end of 2013

After the successful Aircel Blog Up event in Delhi on March 15th, Aircel conducted the Aircel Blog Up Chennai edition on 10th May 2013. At the event, K. Sankara Narayanan, Regional Head, Regional Business Head, Aircel Chennai & Tamil Nadu said that they are gearing up to start pilot run for 4G LTE services in Chennai by the end of 2013 or early 2014. Aircel has 20 MHz spectrum on 2300 MHz in 8 circles including Andhra Pradesh, Tamil Nadu (including Chennai), West Bengal, Bihar, Odisha, Assam, North-East and Jammu & Kashmir. Airtel starts taking Pre-Orders for iPhone 5 in India, priced at Rs.45500 for 16GB

Airtel  which is one of the leading mobile operators in India has started taking Pre-Orders for the Apple iPhone 5 on its website. Airtel is promoting the iPhone 5 on its homepage and has requested interested customers to pre-order the device. The date of availability is mentioned as November 11th 2012 which is a good 10 days later than the previous November 2nd date we have been hearing from distributors.The prices seem to be exactly the same as what we had heard prior to this.

We just told you few hours back that the iPhone 5 was coming to India on November 2nd and also told about the prices at which the iPhone 5 will be selling for in India starting from Rs.45500 for the 16GB model.And now as expected Aircel has starting teasing the iPhone 5 on it’s website. The operator has a coming soon banner for the iPhone 5 on its homepage.Aircel along with Airtel were the official launch partners for the iPhone 4S in India last year.This year though Apple has appointed 2 distributors Ingram Micro and Redington for selling the iPhone 5 in India

Aircel now offers zero rental plans for the 16GB, 32GB and 64GB iPhone 4S. This would offer Rs 18,000 worth free usage on 3G and Rs 15,000 worth free usage on 2G for 1 year. The free usage include, free voice calling, 3G / 2G data , Wi-Fi data and SMS. They announced the price for the iPhone 4S on 18th November and it went on sale on 25th November.  They also offer 0% EMI for ICICI and HDFC bank credit card holders.
