Airtel announced that they have acquired 100% stake in Qualcomm Inc’s 4G venture. Airtel increased its stake to 51% from 49% back in July, which it acquired back in May 2012 by paying US$ 165 million (Rs 927.39 crore approx). Qualcomm won BWA Spectrum in Delhi, Mumbai, Haryana and Kerala circles in 2010 by paying about US$ 1 billion (Rs. 4912.54 crore approx) in the auction by DoT in June 2010 Department of Telecom (DoT). Airtel increases stake in Qualcomm’s 4G venture to 51%
Airtel has increased its stake to 51% in the 4G broadband ventures owned by Qualcomm, raising it from 49% that was acquired by the company back in May 2012, according to a report from ET. Qualcomm won BWA Spectrum in Delhi, Mumbai, Haryana and Kerala circles in 2010 by paying about USD 1 billion (Rs. 4912.54 crore approx). Airtel partners with Qualcomm to bring 4G to Delhi, Mumbai, Haryana and Kerala
Bharti Airtel has announced an agreement to acquire 49% interest in Qualcomm Asia Pacific’s (Qualcomm AP) India BWA entities. Under this Agreement, Bharti has made US$ 165 million approx investment to acquire Qualcomm AP’s India BWA licenses in Delhi, Mumbai, Haryana and Kerala.
