Airtel vs BSNL vs Tata Docomo 3G Tariffs Comparison

We decided to compare the 3G Tariffs from Airtel , BSNL and Tata Docomo in the Bangalore,  Karnataka Circle. This circle was chosen because it is the only circle maximum Operators are offering 3G as of today.

Reliance was not included because it has launched 3G in this circle.This comparison only takes into account the Prepaid tariffs and our main focus is on the Data Usage charges. Airtel 3G launched in Chennai & Coimbatore !

Bharti Airtel, one of India’s leading telecom service provider has today launched their 3G services in two of Tamilnadu’s major cities Chennai and Coimbatore. FoneArena was present at the launch event today. Cinestar and Airtel’s Brand Ambassador Karthi Shivakumar was present at the event, and was one of the first persons to try out Airtel’s 3G video calling. Airtel 3G finally launches , in Karnataka


Airtel has finally launched it’s 3G services and decided to launch it in an event in Bangalore as we reported earlier.The main reason Airtel launched 3G first in Karnataka is because this circle is Airtel’s largest circle by revenue market share. The company plans to launch 3G services in all the 13 circles it won a license by March 2011

State Bank of India and Airtel announce joint venture for mobile banking

State Bank of India (SBI) and Bharti Airtel have announced a joint venture to offer banking services to consumers who don’t have access to traditional banking services.   Consumers can open a bank account with SBI at Airtel’s customer service points and avail banking services.We are really trying to get more information how this tie-up with actually work and what part of it is mobile banking. Airtel 3G Mobile TV App Preview

We checked out the soon to be launched Airtel Mobile TV app powered by Airtel 3G. The live tv app we checked is for Symbian. It runs on all symbian platforms except s60V2. This app comes with preloaded channels and we believe its free of charge to use. But you may be charged for data usage. The app streams the good number of channels without buffering. Airtel launches mobile services in Bangladesh after completing acquisition of Warid Telecom

Airtel Bangladesh started its operations today and joined 19 countries where Airtel operates in Asia and Africa. Airtel had earlier acquired majority stake in Warid Telecom in Bangladesh from the Dhabi Group.Warid Telecom has now been renamed as Airtel Bangladesh

Special Data Packages for Samsung Galaxy Tab customers on Airtel, Aircel, Reliance Mobile, Tata Docomo and Vodafone

The Samsung Galaxy Tab was unveiled in India few days ago and pre-booking were open. Now Samsung India has announced that it has tied up with 5 leading mobile operators in India to offer special offers with respect to data usage on the Samsung Galaxy Tab. Airtel , Aircel , Reliance Mobile , Tata Docomo and Vodafone will offer special data packages for the Samsung Android Tablet.

Airtel launches mGolu contest

Bharti Airtel  announced Airtel mGolu Contest 2010 as part of the Dussehra festive season where every participant would get an assured gift .  To particiapte in the contest the subscribers are asked to click and send photographs of unique Golus via MMS (Multimedia messaging service) to 55563. Airtel said that,“Every participating customer will get an assured gift of 10 free local SMSes and the 5 best entries will be awarded 1gm gold coin each” .
