Google is out with the numbers for Android distribution for the month of December, last time in 2016. The latest figures suggest that adoption of Google’s latest OS, Android 7.0 Nougat is moving at a glacial pace. Nougat is currently present only on 0.4% of all the Android devices, up from 0.3% in last month.

Android Nougat update, DayDream support now rolling out for Moto Z Droid and Z Droid Force on Verizon
Some Moto Z Droid and Z Droid Force owners have started receiving OTA update for Android 7.0 Nougat. Both the phones were shipped with Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow back in July.

Android 7.0 Nougat has enforced verified boot, device with corrupt image will not boot
Google released final Android 7.0 Nougat Developer Preview 5 earlier this week. Today Google has announced that it will be strictly enforcing verified boot in Android 7.0 so if the device has a corrupt boot image, it will not boot or will boot in a limited capacity with user consent. This improves security by using cryptographic integrity checking to detect changes to the operating system. Google confirms Android 7.0 ‘N’ as Android Nougat
Google announced Android ‘N’ back in March this year, ahead of Google I/O and also released a developer preview. It even launched a new micro site and asked for suggestions from users before finalizing a name for Android N. Now it has finally confirmed the name of Android ‘N’ as Nougat.
