Apple said to shift 20% of production capacity to India, aims for $40 billion revenue in the next 5 years
Apple may be on track to increase India’s local manufacturing revenue to nearly $40 billion over the next 5 years, as a result of the Government of India’s Production Linked Incentive scheme (PLI) for large scale electronics manufacturing. The scheme will be largely availed by two of Apple’s contract manufacturers, namely Winstron and Foxconn.

Apple records 56% growth in iPhone sales YoY in India in FY Q2 2016
Apple today reports its earnings for the financial year Q2 2016. Even though Apple sold only 51.2 million iPhones in the quarter compared to 61.2 million in the year-ago quarter, down 16%, during the conference call Apple CEO said that iPhone is still attracting millions of first-time smartphone buyers each quarter, especially from emerging markets.
