A new listing has popped up on Apple’s website that gives us an insight on the company’s plans to expand to the Android territory as well. The job listing states “looking for engineers to help Apple bring exciting new mobile products to the Android platform.”

One Week On, Apple Music Skips A Beat

The writing is on the wall. Music streaming is the future. Earlier this year, streaming music revenues didn’t just reach parity but overtook physical sales of CDs. In a market where even retro formats like vinyl are making a resurgence and are now being charted due to rising popularity, CD sales revenues fell 12.7% and digital downloads too showed signs of slowdowns while streaming revenues jumped up 29%. The streaming business has simply become too lucrative for anyone to ignore if they’re even vaguely involved with the music industry. With Apple Music, Cupertino enters the fray and is no doubt about to give stiff competition in a bid to wrestle away a significant share of the pie. Is it good enough to convince you to switch away from Spotify/Rdio/Gaana/Wynk or any other music streaming service you might be on? That’s what I set out to try and figure out. Apple announced Apple Music, its own music streaming service at the WWDC earlier this week. Apple started rolling out fourth beta of iOS 8.4 to developers recently that adds revamped Apple Music app. New popups for Apple Music sign up pages have started showing up for developers. It is even showing up for developers using the latest iOS 8.4 beta in India that reveals the pricing for individual plan as Rs. 120 ($2 approx.) per month and Rs. 180 ($3 approx.) per month for a family plan that provides service for up to six family members. This is an all-in-one app for discovering music from a catalog with over 30 million songs, listen to your own music library and also listen to ‘Beats 1’ 24-hour radio that is broadcast 24/7 live from cities in over 100 countries around the globe. It is headed by Zane Lowe and his handpicked team of renowned DJs. Apple Music also has music videos without ads.
