Worldwide shipments of wearable devices are expected to reach 110 million units by the end of 2016 with 38.2% growth over the previous year, according to the International Data Corporation (IDC) Worldwide Quarterly Wearable Device Tracker.

The worldwide wearables market grew 197.6% in Q3 2015, according to the latest report from IDC. The total shipment volume for the quarter came to 21.0 million units up from the 7.1 million units shipped in Q3 2014.

Apple has launched the Apple Watch in India, as it promised last month. It was unveiled back in September last year and went on sale in several countries in April earlier this year. Apple Watch has Retina display with Force Touch and Ion-X glass, a hardened glass for protection. The 38mm version has a 1.34-inch (272 x 340 pixels) AMOLED display at 326ppi and the 42mm version has a 1.54-inch (312 x 390 pixels) AMOLED display at 326ppi.
